All About Me

Hi ! I'm Ionela, and I am delighted to share my journey and passion for yoga with you. I am a certified yoga teacher, a former dancer, and a dedicated dance trainer, each experience shaping not only my practice but also my approach to teaching and living a balanced life.

 

From a young age, I felt an undeniable pull towards movement and expression. I began my dance journey at the tender age of 5, a playful exploration that transformed into a profound passion as I stepped onto the stage for the first time at the age of 14. The stage became my second home, a place where I could express my emotions, tell stories, and connect with others through the art of dance. This early exposure to performance taught me discipline, creativity, and the importance of physicality, which later influenced my foray into yoga.

 

Dancing has always been a significant part of my life, but it was through yoga that I discovered a deeper connection to my body and mind. The fluidity of dance is mirrored in the practice of yoga, and the two disciplines beautifully complement each other. As I transitioned from dancer to dance trainer, I found myself drawn to the meditative aspects of yoga, which allow for introspection and self-discovery. The balance between strength and flexibility, as well as stability and grace, is something I aim to cultivate in my classes.

 

In addition to dance and yoga, I have a love for swimming and diving. Living in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt, by the breathtaking Red Sea, I am fortunate to have nature’s beauty and tranquility at my doorstep. The water inspires me, providing a sense of freedom and peace that enriches my yoga practice. I often say that both the ocean and yoga teach us about flow—going with the currents in life while remaining anchored in our breath and presence.

 

At Yoganela, my mission is to create a welcoming space for individuals of all levels to explore their own practice and connect with their bodies. I believe that yoga is not just a series of postures; it is a journey towards self-awareness, empowerment, and inner peace. My classes are infused with the lessons learned from my dance background, focusing on fluid movement, breath awareness, and the joy of being present in every moment.

Together, we will explore the integration of breath and movement, cultivate mindfulness, and embrace the transformative power of yoga.
